2- Sat., Jan. 23rdth, Intro to Yoga with Elizabeth Jarrell 4:00-6:00pm, $30
Beginning a new yoga practice can be intimidating. There is so much to learn. The poses have funny names, it probably feels impossible to imagine doing some of those crazy balances and stretches you've seen on TV or in magazines, and what is yoga anyway?!? This workshop is designed for beginners who are interested in an in-depth but light hearted learning experience that will provide a strong foundation for starting a yoga practice. No prior experience is necessary. The workshop will include instruction, discussion, and plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions in a supportive and non-competitive environment. We will focus on basic rules of alignment as well as specific positioning for several fundamental poses, or asana that will help you to build strength and flexibility. We will spend time discussing the history and philosophy of yoga, practicing different breathing techniques and learning to link breath with movement. You will learn to flow through the Sun Salutations that are an integral component of most yoga classes. The workshop will be a lot of fun and when we're done you will feel prepared to start your own yoga practice at home or to be a confident student in basic yoga and flow yoga classes.

4- Sat. Feb 20th Essential of Kundalini with Melissa DeOrazio 2:00-5:00PM
Essentials of Kundalini Kundalini Yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan) combines breath, mantra, and meditation into sets, called kriyas, addressing the mind, body, and spirit holistically. Yogi Bhajan taught that, through the practice of Kundalini Yoga and meditation, your glandular and nervous systems are stimulated, and your capacity for creative potential is heightened. You gain inner vitality to compensate for the adverse effects of stress so you can excel in life. In this workshop, we'll cover the basics of pranayama (breath work), mantras, and chakras, as well as the practice of kriyas (yoga sets) and meditations, to bring awareness and consciousness, not only to our yoga practice, but to our lives. We'll also discuss elements of yogic philosophy, lifestyle, and diet, and how to integrate the practice into our daily routine. This class is suitable for all levels of experience. A light meal is recommended before class. Yogi Tea and dessert will be served after class.

6 & 7 Jivamukti Basics March 13th & March 20th
Emphasis Standing postures and Forward bending
First session: Saturday, March 13th, 2:00pm-4:30pm
Standing postures Standing poses reflect back to us something about out willingness or unwillingness to connect to the earth, to all beings and nature. They speak to the clarity of our relationships with others. We can build a steady joyful connection through the physical connection with the ground on which we stand. In this segment we will refine various basic standing postures. Forward bending Nurturing, reflective forward bending is one of the most ingrained forms we take. These postures have the power to strengthen the digestive system and massage the internal organs as well as activate the adrenal glands balancing the whole system and promoting harmony.
Second session ( Jivamukti): Saturday, March 20th, 2:00pm-4:30pm
Emphasis Backbending Turning it upside down and putting it all together Backbending To open up in a backbend is to affirm your sovereignty and ability to move forward courageously with an open heart. We will explore various alignment techniques which help to open into backbends with a sense of ease and liberation. Turning it upside down and putting it all together Here we begin to integrate the breath, mind and body as interrelated parts of the real whole self. The power of the sound of our own voice to bring us into awareness and unite the subtle body with the gross body will be part of our practice, asana will be linked to the breath and inversions and bandhas will be introduced. This class will end with a brief meditation practice.
Saturday, March 27th , 3:00-4:00PM Kid's Camp with Elizabethh Jarrell and Nathalie Croix
This is Yoga camp for the little ones. Just as the adults, children today also have a lot of stress; homework, over-scheduling; it all adds up. Yoga is an amazing way to relieve stress, develop better body awareness, self-control, flexibility and coordination. Children can carry these skills beyond class and into their daily routines. Yoga has also been shown to help the hyperactive and attention-deficit child. Yoga helps channel these impulses in a positive way. Yoga camp will be about exploring yoga postures, getting beyond just "doing" the posture, by becoming like the postures -- strong and confident like a warrior. Foremost we will play and have FUN :)
Saturday, May 8th, 2:00-4:00pm Daria Korokhtenkova
